Application Deadlines

The MIP program starts every year. The next possibility to start studying the program will take place in October 2020 and an intensive German language course will be offered one month in advance. Please consider the following approximate schedules:

  • For Applications for the Master's Program and a Scholarship through DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). (If you apply for a DAAD scholarship you have to use the official DAAD form)
  • For Self Financing Applications for the Master's Program.

2020 course...

  • End of September 2019: Deadline for application through University of Stuttgart. The applicants have to use the C@MPUS system. 

  • December 2019: Email notification of short listed DAAD schoolarship candidates by the MIP office.
  • January 2020: Final confirmation of acceptance as schoolarship holder by DAAD.

  • Beginning of September 2020: German course.

  • Middle of October 2020: Beginning of first academic term.

 

2020 course...

  • Middle of February 2020: Application deadline. The applicants have to use the C@MPUS system. 

  • April 2020: The candidates can see the results of the admission process in their individual C@MPUS account.

Admission requirements& Procedure

Note: You need a minimum of two years of professional experience after your Bachelor to apply for a DAAD scholarship (internships during Bachelor studies are not accepted).

The C@MPUS portal of the University of Stuttgart will be open for MIP online-applications in combination with an application for a DAAD-scholarship from August 1st, 2019 until September 30th, 2019.

On September 30th, the applications will be downloaded from the system and only documents uploaded until then will be evaluated for DAAD applications. No late submission after this deadline by E-Mail or hardcopy will be accepted for the decision on scholarship candidates.

Mandatory Application Documents to be uploaded un C@MPUS for DAAD Applicants

In case the documents are issued in another language than English/German, you have to submit an English or German translation. The translation has to bear the original stamp/signature of an official translator and a copy of the original document has to be attached:

  1. High school leaving certificate (the last certificate from school before entering university)
  2. Final university degree certificate of Bachelor degree (no provisional certificates accepted)
  3. Final university transcript of Bachelor studies including CGPA
  4. Document from university indicating max./min. grade and grading system for Bachelor degree (if information is included in transcript, the transcript can be uploaded again)
  5. Results of English proficiency examination (TOEFL or IELTS)
    Important: Only native speakers with official nationality (provide passport copy) from USA, Ireland, UK, Australia, Canada are exempted, all other applicants have to submit TOEFL or IELTS result. The minimum requirement for admission is: TOEFL: 550 PBT, 213 CBT, 79 iBT or IELTS (IELTS academic test): Band 6.0. (please note: „Institutuional based TOEFL“ and „IELTS general training test“ are both not accepted)
  6. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  8. Motivation letter (explaining why you choose MIP and what your career plans are)
  9. Work certificate(s) for working periods after your graduation from the Bachelor
  10. Confirmation of study leave from current employer (if applicable)
  11. Recommendation letters from university professors and/or employers (minimum 2)
  12. Additional university degrees (if applicable, e.g. second Bachelor/Master degree you hold)

The MIP-admission-committee will meet in November 2019 and will evaluate your application documents. You will receive a notice by E-Mail from the MIP office in December 2019 concerning admission/rejection and scholarship.There is only a limited number of study seats and scholarships available and you can be suggested for admission without being shortlisted for a scholarship.

 

The C@MPUS portal of the University of Stuttgart will be open for MIP online-applications as a self-financing student from August 1st, 2019 until February 15th, 2020.

On February 15th, 2020 the portal will be closed and only documents uploaded until then will be evaluated. No late submission after this deadline by E-Mail or hardcopy will be accepted.

The admission committee will meet in March 2020 and will evaluate your application documents. You will find the admission or rejection letter in your C@MPUS-account for download in April. There is only a limited number of study seats available and not all applicants can be admitted.

Important for all applications

Please do not apply if your bachelor studies are not completed at the date of application!

The final bachelor degree certificate and the final grades certificate stating the final CGPA have to be uploaded in C@MPUS. No provisional certificates will be accepted.

  • The TOEFL or IELTS result sheet has to be uploaded or the application will be rejected due to being incomplete.
  • Please do not contact the MIP office asking for any exceptions to this rule.
  • If you cannot provide these documents until the deadline, you have to apply for the next session 2021-2023.

Procedure (General Description)

  • Each application for admission is evaluated by the admission committee. Representatives of the DAAD may attend the meeting of the admission committee in an advisory capacity.

  • Only complete applications will be evaluated.

  • The assessment of the documents submitted by the applicant is based on his/her educational and professional background and based on the submitted application documents, certificates and letters of reference, considering ultimately the performance described therein.

  • The admission committee meets in November 2019 to decide on applications with a request for a DAAD-scholarship, which have been filed in C@MPUS until September 30th, 2019. Applicants will be informed on their individual result in regard to the scholarship selection process in December 2019 by E-mail. In case of admission, applicants will be able to print the official admission letter from their C@MPUS-account after the complete review process is finished (after the admission committee suggests candidates for admission to the university, the enrollment office will do a second check of the application documents in regard to legal and formal requirements for studying in Germany).

  • Applications received later than September 30th will be evaluated by the admission committee in March 2020. In case of admission, applicants will be able to print the official admission letter from their C@MPUS-account after the complete review process is finished (after the admission committee suggests candidates for admission to the university, the enrollment office will do a second check of the application documents in regard to legal and formal requirements for studying in Germany).

  • In case of rejection, applicants will be able to print the official rejection letter from their C@MPUS account after the complete review process is finished.
