Welcome prospective Students!

Here you can find general information about the application to get admission.

There are two options available for applicants of MIP:

  1. Application for the Admission and DAAD Scholarship: For the next intake (WS 25/26) there are no DAAD scholarships.
  2. Application for the Admission as a self-financing Student

The procedure of the application for options A and B is different. For detailed information please click on the links above.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in civil engineering, architecture, urban- or regional  planning, geodesy, environmental engineering, or related fields
  • An excellent academic record
  • Proof of English language proficiency in the form of internationally recognized test scores (TOEFL or IELTS). This proof is obligatory for every applicant except for English native speakers.
  • Local admission restriction

The C@MPUS portal of the University of Stuttgart will be open for MIP online-applications from August 1st of the year before the start of studies until February 15th of the year the studies start.

On February 15th the portal will be closed and only documents uploaded until then will be evaluated. Only complete applications (including uploads of all mandatory documents) can be considered for evaluation. No late submission after this deadline by E-Mail or hardcopy will be accepted.

Deadlines for DAAD scholarship applicants:

  • September 30th (the year before the start of studies): Deadline for application through the University of Stuttgart. The applicants have to use the C@MPUS system. 

  • December (the year before the start of studies): Email notification of shortlisted DAAD scholarship candidates by the MIP office.

  • January (the year the studies start): Final confirmation of acceptance as scholarship holder by DAAD.

  • Beginning of September (the year the studies start): German course.

  • Middle of October: Beginning of first academic term.

Deadlines for Self-financed students:

  • February 15th (the year the studies start): Application deadline. The applicants have to use the C@MPUS system. 

  • April (the year the studies start): The candidates can see the results of the admission process in their individual C@MPUS account. 

  • Beginning of September (the year the studies start): German course.

  • Middle of October: Beginning of first academic term.

The application has to be filed online in the application system “C@MPUS” of the University of Stuttgart. Only complete applications with correctly uploaded documents will be evaluated.

 

Online Application

  • Each application for admission is evaluated by the admission committee. Representatives of the DAAD may attend the meeting of the admission committee in an advisory capacity.

  • Only complete applications will be evaluated. All mandatory documents, including the TOEFL or IELTS result sheet, have to be uploaded otherwise, the application will be rejected due to being incomplete.

  • The assessment of the documents submitted by the applicant is based on his/her educational and professional background and based on the submitted application documents, certificates and letters of reference, considering ultimately the performance described therein.

  • The admission committee meets in November (the year before the start of studies) to decide on applications with a request for a DAAD-scholarship, which has been filled in C@MPUS until September 30th. Applicants will be informed about their individual results in regard to the scholarship admission process in December by E-mail. In case of admission, applicants will be able to print the official admission letter from their C@MPUS-account after the complete review process is finished (after the admission committee suggests candidates for admission to the university, the enrollment office will do a second check of the application documents in regard to legal and formal requirements for studying in Germany).

  • Applications received later than September 30th will be evaluated by the admission committee in March (the year the studies start). In case of admission, applicants will be able to print the official admission letter from their C@MPUS-account after the complete review process is finished (after the admission committee suggests candidates for admission to the university, the enrollment office will do a second check of the application documents in regard to legal and formal requirements for studying in Germany).

  • In case of rejection, applicants will be able to print the official rejection letter from their C@MPUS account after the complete review process is finished.

Minimum budget for four semesters: approx. 28,000 EUR, including the cost of living (incl. room, health insurance, etc.), study fees and educational expenditures. You can find a cost calculation here. This is the minimum budget for a SINGLE person and does not include travel costs from and to the home country.

IMPORTANT: The State of Baden-Württemberg introduced a tuition fee of 1,500 EUR per semester for non-EU students. This fee is included in the cost calculation.

Important for all applications

Please do not apply if your bachelor studies are not completed at the date of the application!
  • The final bachelor degree certificate and the final grades certificate stating the final CGPA have to be uploaded in C@MPUS. No provisional certificates will be accepted. 
  • The TOEFL or IELTS result sheet has to be uploaded or the application will be rejected due to being incomplete.
  • Please do not contact the MIP office asking for any exceptions to this rule.
  • If you cannot provide these documents until the deadline, you have to apply for the next session.
